Actually in a taste comparison there really is never a clear cut champion or defeated spirit when equivalent brands dual. What becomes apparent is the significant differences and similarities between two rival brands boasting superiority over the other. Each individual taster must decide which spirit they prefer according to their own palate.
Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka: Tea leaf scent sharpness. This flavored vodka borders on liqueur feel in my book with its extreme sweetness. The taste is exactly like Southern sweet tea with the medium body texture of vodka. Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka comes off extremely sweet in my book.
Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka: Delicate tea body in aroma. Thin vodka base. Light sweetness, yet still easily sippable. This is a dangerous one! By that I mean Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka could easily be poured over a tall glass of ice and sipped as if it were a tall glass of innocuous Southern sweet tea rather than the potently charged 70 proof vodka based spirit it actually happens to be.
Both Sweet Tea Vodkas have a Lemonade recipe that is similar, but not exactly the same. In the name of fairness I balanced the two and came up with a 2 ounce Sweet Tea Vodka ratio with Lemonade topper as the basis for my assessment. Both concoctions taste about on par with each other. However, when mixed with lemonade with its own sugary base the drink becomes entirely too sweet. Scaling the recipe to the following measurements renders a much better cocktail that easily passes for something potable if you prefer a squeeze of lemon in your sweet tea rather than lemonade mixed with sweet tea.
Lemon Squeeze Tea – created by The Intoxicologist
2-1/2 ounces Sweet Tea Vodka
1 ounce Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
Lemon Twist for Garnish
Build in a large rocks glass over ice. Garnish with the lemon twist for a hint of peel bitter freshness.
As I said early on there is not a winner or a loser in a head to head match-up of obviously equivalent spirits. In the recipe above it really does not make a difference which brand you opt for since the lemon takes the bite out of the tea leaf sharpness and the sugar factor is slight at best when weighing the two brands. That being said, consider your preference for sharp over delicate in regard to tea leaves and sweetness level. Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka ranks in as sweeter and sharper whereas Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka lines up a tad more delicate and a little less sweet.

For wanting a sweet tea flavor I expect it to be just that, Sweet. If you ever go to the south their tea is ridiculous. In my opinion Jeremiah weed stacks up in comparison to an original glass of southern sweet tea. With water or Lemonade it is definitly my “cup of tea”
