Muddled Magic Cocktails the SKYY Way

without comments

MuddlerEvery kitchen gourmet realizes the best indulgences begin with the freshest ingredients whether preparing a meal or muddling a cocktail.  Summer is the perfect opportunity for mixing and muddling with the finest of fresh ingredients available whether fruit or herbs are involved.  What a delight for the professional mixologist or at home kitchen bartender.

Muddling garden-fresh, juicy fruits is not the daunting task it might seem.  Basic muddlers may be purchased for a few dollars.  The back of a sturdy spoon will even suffice if a muddler is not handy.  Other than that all you need is a mixing glass.  Be sure to cut fruits for muddling into manageable pieces to make your job easier.  The idea behind muddling is to release juices and essential oils from fruits and herbs rather than crush the fruit to oblivion.  So, muddle appropriately, add in the rest of your mixers with ice to chill and then stir or shake.  My personal choice is to strain as the next step, since my preference is no floaters in my cocktail.  Garnish and enjoy.
