The Intoxicologist

Corrido Tequila recently celebrated prohibition repeal with three cocktails specifically tailored for the event by 15 Romolo managing partner and bartender, Scott Baird.  Each original cocktail creation uses Corrido Cristalino Tequila and fresh ingredients. 

Thyme Will Tell – Created by Scott Baird

2 ounce Corrido Cristalino Tequila

1 sprig thyme

2 ounce unfiltered apple juice

3/4 ounce egg white

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

Dash orange bitters

Thyme Garnish

Dry shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.  Add ice, shake again. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.  Garnish with thyme.

Corrido Tequila derives its name from Mexican folklore originating before the time of prohibition, but evolving during the time when tequila smugglers brought the hidden gem of tequila within the reach of thirsty consumers.  Today Corrido operates (legally of course) at the Corrido “Prasa” distillery in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico. 

Red Sky at Night – Created by Scott Baird

2 ounce Corrido Cristalino Tequila

3/4 ounce Persimmon Shrub

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

Dash bitters

Ginger beer to Top

Orange Peel Garnish

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.  Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice.  Garnish with an orange peel.

Corrido Tequila uses 100 percent blue agave.  The portfolio offers Corrido Cristalino.  It also includes single-barrel aged tequilas such as Corrido Reposado (aged 6 months), Corrido Anejo (aged 18 months) and Corrido Extra Anejo (aged three years). 

Mexican Riviera Cocktail – Created by Scott Baird

1-1/2 ounce Corrido Cristalino Tequila

3/4 ounce Aperol

1/2 ounce Dolin Blanc

Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin.  Stir with a bar spoon for 10 to 15 seconds.  Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  Serve straight up.
