Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea: Cocktail Contest Winning Recipes
During the holidays I held an informal Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea cocktail contest on The Intoxicologist Facebook fan page. Participants were asked to create a cocktail using any of the following four Jeremiah Weed flavors: Country Peach*, Sweet Tea, Sweet Tea & Lemonade Half & Half and Sweet Tea Vodka & Bourbon Whiskey. These drink recipes needed to fall within the category of fall, Thanksgiving or Christmas worthy cocktails and there was no need for fancy cocktail creation. As participant Aaron Yeats aptly stated, “Easier should be the mantra of J Weed Sweet Tea.”
One might think a pre-mix like Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea and its various flavors needs no more than water and ice to make it delicious or sip worthy. Yet these entries prove consumers love a good premix and then love dabbling beyond the bottle for flavor variety even more. The cocktails Facebook fans came up with are quick and easy making cocktail construction for the holidays a snap when friends and family gather around. Choosing a festive glass, simple garnish and harmonizing flavor add-in turns the ordinary favorite drink into a celebratory cocktail. That simple. That easy.
