Pre-bottled margarita mixes have become quite popular lately. Some are marketed as lower calorie without skimping on the authentic taste of the classic Margarita. However, sour mixes (sweetened with sugar or sugar substitute) usually interfere with the genuine flavor of premium margaritas. Pre-bottled margaritas also take away the option of which tequila one chooses. And really, isn’t it the tequila that provides much of the flavor base to a margarita? There are many varieties of Tequila to choose from for smoky, grassy, earthy, floral…flavors. Mix your own handmade margarita and taste the difference.
