October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The month comes alive each year with pink themed everything from races, laces and t-shirts to pro football players donning pink in support of the cause. Thinking pink helps raise public consciousness about the disease that strikes at the heart of families, friends, and neighbors. We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer.
Do more than raise awareness this month and every month. Donate to fund research. Volunteer within your community to help those fighting this disease. Get breast exams on a regular basis.
Have fun while raising awareness this month. Raise a dink drink in toast to all those who have fought, are still fighting and have survived breast cancer.

More Pink Drinks
Try the Cherry Limeade with maraschino infused rum. One sip of this and you might start dreaming about burgers and fries from a classic drive-in. Make this Cherry Limeade in pitcher quantity and throw a party for your best girlfriends. The Papa Doble Punch is another recipe that uses maraschino infused rum. Make them both!
Another fun pink cocktail with blush worthy name is Pink Silk Panties. This is a super easy drink to make with only three ingredients. Sip it as a cocktail or change things up a bit and divide the drink between two shot glasses. Sharing with a friend is always better.
We all know how much fun it was to eat cotton candy as a kid. Wispy strands of sugar floss brought smiles and happiness along with sticky fingers and face. Yeah, I was a messy eater as a kid. Skip the sugared floss and go straight for the Cotton Candy drink with moscato wine and pink passion fruit liqueur. Of course you could also share the shot of the same name instead. You’re welcome.
Don’t forget pink classic cocktails like the ever famous Cosmo and Bacardi Cocktail. October is also National Applejack Month, so a Jack Rose cocktail serves double duty this month with its pink hue. A Sloe Gin Fizz or Alabama Slammer is sure to bring back memories of youth. And a personal favorite, the classic Clover Club Cocktail. It’s a little more work, but well worth the effort.
If you’re looking for something with darker spirits, try the Dark Cherry Manhattan recipe with rye whiskey. Make it straight up or serve on the rocks. It’s delicious both ways.
Keep your pink happy hour a little lighter with lower calorie cocktails. Less alcohol doesn’t mean less taste. It means longer happy hour without the guilt! Ocean Breeze is a lower calorie variation of the Sea Breeze long drink. Salted Ruby is a lower calorie variation of a grapefruit margarita. Full Bodied Maven is sure to be a crowd pleaser with three ingredients, full flavor and under 90 calories. Silhouette comes in under 90 calories with fresh raspberries and whiskey.
