The Citrus Drop is sometimes referred to as a Lemon Drop shot. The Citrus Drop or Lemon Drop is one of the more popular shots to order at a bar. They are easy to make, so most bartenders know how to mix them correctly. However, the Citrus Drop is a little tart since the sugared lemon is not actually mixed with the citrus vodka.

Citrus Drop

1-1/2 ounce Citrus Vodka

1 Lemon Wedge

1 Teaspoon Sugar

Place vodka in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to chill. Strain into shot glass. Dip lemon wedge in sugar. Serve immediate with chilled shot.

The Citrus Drop easily converts to full size cocktail fun.  Wine lovers can enjoy a summery Lemon Drop with Riesling wine. Vodka fans can take the Citrus Pucker Lemon Drop cocktail with lemonade or Ketel One Lemon Drop Martini with sour mix out for a lip smacking good time.

Inside Nana Bread’s Head has a lovely variation on the Citrus Drop using both Limón rum and citrus vodka. Limón rum contains some sweetness. Nana Bread’s recipe also uses frozen lemonade. Pucker up and hold on for some lemony goodness in those Lemon Drop Shots.
