Don Julio Tequila Blanco Recipes

Tequila gives the classic mojito an exciting twist. Use Don Julio tequila in place of rum for an interesting and original take on the mojito.

1 ounce Don Julio Blanco

2 ounces Lime Juice

6 Mint Leaves

1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar

1/2 ounce Seltzer Water

1 ounce Lemon-Lime Soda

Place tequila, lime juice, mint leaves and sugar in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Pour contents of the shaker into an old fashioned glass. Top with a dash of seltzer and lemon-lime soda.

This one is for those who take their margaritas seriously. You know who you are. Agave syrup is the perfect complement to tequila and brings an authentic Mexican flavor to the traditional margarita.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Blanco

1/2 ounce Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 ounce Agave Syrup

Lime Wedge

Place tequila, lime juice and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker. Shake well. Pour contents from shaker into glass. Garnish with lime wedge.

1 ounce Don Julio Blanco

1/2 ounce Coffee Liqueur

1/4 ounce Agave Syrup

1 espresso Coffee Bean

Place tequila, coffee liqueur, and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain liquid into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a floated coffee bean.

This is your new go-to classic. Don Julio reinvents the summer favorite, gin and tonic.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Blanco

Tonic Water

Lime Wedge

Pour Don Julio Blanco over ice cubes in a highball glass. Top with tonic. Garnish with lime wedge.

Blanco Chilled

This is a simple classic with huge flavor. The most difficult part of this recipe is remembering to place the Don Julio tequila in the freezer ahead of time. You can do it!

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Blanco

Place tequila in a rocks glass and sail away with smooth sipping.

But in case you forgot to freeze the bottle and just want one now; place tequila in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass.

Blanco Watermelon Margarita

Watermelon changes the usual margarita into a distinctly summery thirst quencher. The Watermelon Margarita is the perfect collaboration of luxury and summer.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Blanco

1/2 ounce Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 ounce Agave Syrup

5 diced Watermelon Cubes

Watermelon Slice

Place watermelon and agave syrup in a mixing glass. Muddle. Add tequila, lime juice and ice. Shake well. Double strain liquid into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with watermelon slice.

Blanco Pomegranate Margarita

The pomegranate, one of nature’s most revered fruits, finally meets a worthy companion.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Blanco

2-1/2 ounces Pomegranate Juice

2 Teaspoons Fine Sugar

1/2 ounce Lime Juice

Sugar to Rim Glass

Lime Wedge

Wet the rim of a collins glass with lime. Dip rim of glass into granulated sugar. Fill glass with ice. Set aside. Place tequila, juice, sugar and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into prepared collins glass. Garnish with lime wedge.

3/4 ounce Don Julio Blanco

2-1/2 ounces Champagne

Fresh Strawberry Slices

Splash of Simple Syrup

Drop strawberry slices and a splash of simple syrup into a chilled champagne flute. Add chilled tequila and top with chilled champagne.

Don Julio Tequila Reposado Cocktails

Elevate the blanco margarita with reposado tequila instead. The addition of Tequila Don Julio Reposado deepens the flavor, elevating the margarita to new heights.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Reposado

1/2 ounce Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 ounce Agave Syrup

Lime Wedge

Place tequila, juice and syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well-chilled. Strain into a martini or margarita glass. Garnish with lime wedge.

Sangrita, is a traditional drink. The name means “little blood.” It is basically a palate cleanser served after a shot of tequila but can also be served without any alcohol.Reposado & Sangrita

Don Julio’s flavor profile is already peppered with spice. Add more spices for an even bolder taste. Mix things up with Don Julio’s take on the classic Sangrita. Place your bottle of tequila in the freezer a day ahead of time for a real treat. Make the sangrita ahead of time and keep it chilled until ready to use.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Reposado

2 cups Orange Juice

1/2 cup Lime Juice

1/2 cup Grapefruit Juice

1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder

1 pinch Dried Ancho Chili Spice

1 pinch Dried Chile de Arbol Spice

1 Lime Wedge

Place chilled juices and spices into a pitcher. Stir. Pour enough to fill a shot glass. Pour chilled tequila into a second shot glass. Garnish with a lime wedge. Sip on both for a lovely taste experience.

Reposado Paloma

The classic Paloma is already nicely sweet and tart, but Don Julio serves up the Paloma with a smooth finish. This is simple, refreshing cocktail is always perfect for the party.

1 ounce Don Julio Reposado

2 ounces Grapefruit Juice

You can also add 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier Liqueur

Top with Tonic

Lime Wheel

Place ice in a collins glass. Add tequila and grapefruit juice. Stir briefly if desired. Add a lime wheel and top with tonic leaving room to float the orange liqueur across the top.

Reposado Bloody Maria

We all could benefit from a touch of a spice and a dash of luxury.  Tequila makes the most familiar cocktails truly exceptional.

1-1/2 ounces Don Julio Reposado

6 drops of Hot Sauce

8 drops of Worcester Sauce

1 pinch of Celery Salt

1 pinch of Ground Black Pepper

1 teaspoon Ground Horseradish

2 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice

8 ounces Tomato Juice

Celery for Garnish

Ground Black Pepper to Rim Glass

Wet the rim of an old fashioned glass with lemon. Dip rim into black pepper. Add ice to the glass. Pour in tequila and season with hot sauce and remaining spices. Squeeze in lemon juice. Top with tomato juice. Stir briefly. Garnish with celery stalks.

Sage & Pineapple

Making your own syrups is a terrific way to elevate your cocktail experience. This recipe pairs sage syrup with fresh pineapple giving this cocktail an extraordinary aroma.

1 ounceDon Julio Reposado

1/2 ounce Sage Syrup*

1/4 ounce Agave Syrup

1/2 Thick Slice of Pineapple

1/2 ounce Lime Juice

Sage Leaf

Place pineapple, lime juice and agave syrup into a mixing glass. Muddle. Add sage syrup, tequila and ice. Shake to chill. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with sage leaf.

*Sage Syrup: Muddle 6 sage leaves with 2 ounces triple sec and 1/4 ounce agave syrup. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.

Anejo is always meant to be savored, but I’m not here to tell you what to do. Experience the pure luxury of Don Julio Anejo exactly the way you like. Below is just a suggestion.

1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Añejo

Pour Tequila Don Julio Añejo into a rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Sip and savor to your delight.
