Sultry sips and panty dropper cocktails might not have been found in burlesque bars and speakeasy lounges of yesteryear, but they are a staple of many popular bars and pubs today. Sex sells in the form of fashion, racy sports cars and where liquor finds its way in a glass by flavor combination and cocktail name. These are the little sips of courage, playful just for fun cocktails and last call for alcohol drinks that bring sly grins to women’s lips, a wiggle to their hips and hopeful lust to men’s imaginative musings.

Ready yourself for fun. Enjoy a few cocktails with sexy names for the sheer fun of it this weekend.

Panty Dropper Cocktails

I have heard of bars offering Ladies Night specials to wear pink panties and get a Pink Panty shot for free. These kind of cocktail specials make me giggle. I’m not sure showing undies is worth a free drink, but to each her own.

Pink Silk Panties pink cocktail can be sipped as a cocktail or divided into two shots.

There are two Silk Panty cocktails that are similar with just enough variation to make a difference in taste. One recipe contains more peach, with less cranberry juice rendering a slightly lusher cocktail. It is also useful as shot or cocktail. The second recipe is an even 1:1:1 ratio which will give this drink a bit more cranberry sharpness. Both will still have similarities in flavor. You decide which you like best.

Pink Silk Panties

3/4 ounce Vodka

1-1/4 ounce Peach Schnapps

1/2 ounce Cranberry Juice

Place all liquids in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to blend and chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or divide evenly between two shot glasses.

Cocktail Inspiration

Inspiration for this collection of cocktails and shots came from the 1958 musical composition by David Rose. The tune; “The Stripper,” is a short one minute, fifty-five second musical piece that took four years to hit the number one spot in the U.S. pop hit chart. It was found in an obscure 1950’s television program titled Burlesque. Whether we find this specific tune sexy or not, it is forever ingrained in our minds as striptease music.
