Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee and Rosé in cans are transportable, recyclable, and super tasty. Perfect single size portions for any outdoor activity.Bollicini is not the first bubbly marketed in easy on-the-go cans. Barefoot Wine introduced 4-pack canned wine spritzers to the public in May 2016. A few other canned wine spritzers include Hoxie Spritzer, Ramona, and ManCan. Thrillist put together a list of their top canned wine and sparkling wine choices. Take a look at that list here.

Canned wine might not be everyone’s cup of tea (or glass of wine.) But canned wine does have a few plus points. Cans are single serve, recyclable, easy to transport, and take away the intimidation factor sometimes associated with choosing wine. Personally, I like the single serve factor. Sometimes a single glass is all I want. Opening a full size bottle of wine and especially bubbly makes absolutely no sense when there are convenient single serve options.

Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee Review

22 proof | 11% alcohol by volume | $10 4-pack of 187ml cans | Imported from Italy

Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee and Rosé in cans are transportable, recyclable, and super tasty. Perfect single size portions for any outdoor activity.First Impressions: As mentioned from the start, the cans are just adorable. They are fun and approachable. Cuvee is a pastel blue to aqua color. It reminds me a little of the ocean. And the fun silver dots surrounding the cans remind me of effervescent bubbles rising to the top of the can. It is difficult to imagine the liquid inside of this unassuming container would be stuffy or pretentious. In fact, it seems perfect for the beach, a pool party, backyard BBQ or lady’s night in.

Color: Super pale gold

Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee and Rosé in cans are transportable, recyclable, and super tasty. Perfect single size portions for any outdoor activity.Aroma: While these are made to be sipped directly from the can, you can see I used a glass. It makes a much prettier presentation for review purposes don’t you think? Honestly, I couldn’t get much aroma on the nose with the popped top. There still wasn’t much aroma once I placed the liquid in the glass.

Taste: There are hints of tropical flower and fruit with sprinkling of light spice. I get a slight soft cheese flavor buried within. This sparkling cuvee is light with a crisp lingering finish. It has medium mouthfeel with nice effervescence. The flavor and bubbles definitely carry their weight. This is fun and lightly fruited. It definitely carries its weight against many full size bottles of bubbly within the same price range.

In case you are wondering, 4 – 187ml cans come to 748ml. A full size bottle of wine or bubbly is 750ml. That is less than a 1/2 teaspoon difference in volume between bottle and 4-pack.

Overall Impressions: I like the Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee. It is great chilled in the can. The can cuteness factor makes this fun for casual gatherings. They are also perfect to pack into an ice-filled cooler for tailgate parties or any other outdoor activity. Drink directly from the can, use a straw, or pour it into a glass. The options are all yours.

I think the Sparkling Cuvee would also pair nicely with a splash of tequila and citrus twist. Make your own sparking margarita for brunch!

Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee and Rosé in cans are transportable, recyclable, and super tasty. Perfect single size portions for any outdoor activity.First Impressions: The can is the same fun design as the Cuvee, only pastel pink in color.

Color: This sparkling rosé is pink blush in color.

Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee and Rosé in cans are transportable, recyclable, and super tasty. Perfect single size portions for any outdoor activity.Aroma: Again there is barely any aroma when the can is first popped open. There is a tiny bit of fruit on the nose once it is poured into the glass. And of course there are tickling bubbles licking at my nose.

Taste: This is fruity with raspberry, strawberry and sweet cherry. There is a hint of light floral. I am pleasantly surprised that the sweetness factor is well in control. It is light and crisp on the tongue. Again this is comparable to other sparkling rosés.

Overall Impressions: I would definitely seek this out for the right occasion. By right occasion I mean anytime single serve portions make more sense than a whole bottle. This can size makes it easy to make two mimosa servings.

I can easily see pairing this sparkling rosé with movie night and popcorn. Of course it is also sophisticated enough to serve with an appetizer plate with sliced baguette dipped in garlic and herb infused oil. I think it would also go great with a main course Mediterranean pasta dish. The possibilities are endless.
