Lavender Peppercorn Margarita gelatin shots are not your ordinary Friday night Jello shots. These classy little finger bite gelatin shots could be served at Sunday brunch, holiday functions and upscale cocktail parties. They are fun, flavor packed desserts. Try them out for fun now to see how quick and easy they are to make. Tuck the recipe away for later when you want to “wow!” guests with a little something special.
The instructions might seem a bit lengthy, but these little gelatin shots are super easy to make. If you have ever made Jello or Jello shots, then this will be a walk in the park.
Lavender Peppercorn Margarita Gelatin Shots Recipe
Lavender Peppercorn Margarita Gelatin Shots – recipe by Cheri Loughlin, The Intoxicologist
2/3 cup Lavender Peppercorn Syrup {syrup recipe below}
1/3 cup Honey
1/3 cup Water
2 envelopes Knox Unflavored Gelatin Packets
2/3 cup Tequila Reposado
Fresh Lime Zest Garnish
Place syrup, honey, water and gelatin in saucepan. Stir gently. Heat over low heat until gelatin is completely dissolved, stirring continually {approximately 7 to 8 minutes}. Remove from heat. Add tequila. Stir. Pour mixture into small shallow pan. {Gelatin shots should be 3/8 inch deep} Chill until gelatin is completely set. Cut into approximately 20 to 24 squares or use simple cookie cutter for decorative shapes just before serving. Remove from pan with thin spatula. Garnish with fresh lime zest on top of each square.
Lavender Peppercorn Syrup – recipe by Cheri Loughlin, The Intoxicologist
1/2 cup Water
1 cup Organic Cane Sugar
2 tablespoons Peppercorns
2 tablespoons Lavender
1 ounce Vodka {optional, acts as preservative}
Place water, sugar, lavender and peppercorns in saucepan over medium heat. Heat until sugar is completely dissolved {approximately 5 minutes}. Remove from heat. Strain syrup into glass jar with lid. Add vodka. Stir briefly. Discard lavender and peppercorns. Refrigerate. Syrup should keep several weeks if kept sealed and refrigerated between use.
