The Fuzzy Navel is a long standing favorite in the long list of popular drinks, cocktails and shot recipes. This easily made three ingredient recipe takes very little time to prepare. The Fuzzy Navel tip-toes the line of sexy summer sippers with its sun kissed sweetness and peach flavor.

This summer favorite is also a member of the New England Highballs family. Imagine a Screwdriver with peach schnapps thrown into the mix. Instant Fuzzy Navel. Easy! Add cranberry juice and it would be a Sex on the Beach long drink. The adjustment is in measurements.

Traditionally the Fuzzy Navel recipe uses plain vodka, peach schnapps and purchased orange juice. That is the quickest, easiest way to make the drink. For fuller flavor and fresher taste change the recipe up a bit. Use peach or citrus flavored vodka, fresh squeezed orange juice and a dash or few of classic or peach bitters.

Fuzzy Navel Recipe

Fuzzy Navel – recipe adapted by Cheri Loughlin, The Intoxicologist

1-3/4 ounce Stoli Peachik

1/2 ounce DeKuyper Peach Schnapps

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice (approximately 2 small oranges)

2 Dashes Classic Bitters

Fresh Lemon Twist Garnish

Fill highball glass with ice. Add vodka and liqueur. Top with fresh squeezed orange juice. Add healthy dashes of bitters. Garnish with fresh lemon twist over top to glean essential oils.

Peach flavored vodka brings an added layer of depth to the peach schnapps. The peach flavor is full and lush. Fresh squeezed orange juice might seem like extra effort and an additional step in the process, but it is well worth it. The Fuzzy Navel flavor comes across lighter like summer breezes. Bitters zap the tiniest bit of sweetness off the drink so the Fuzzy Navel bursts with wonderful flavor layering. The taste is fruit rather than just sugared sweetness.
