Have Your Chocolate Cake & Sip It Too

The best of both worlds merge when Chocolate Cake Day arrives. January 27 is National Chocolate Cake Day by some foodie calendars. The phrase, “Have one’s cake and eat it too,” takes on new meaning when cake batter becomes liquid bliss shaken and strained into a cocktail glass. The German Chocolate Cake cocktail is the ultimate in dessert cocktails.

German Chocolate Cake

1 ounce Coconut Rum

1 ounce Crème de Cacao

1/2 ounce Frangelico

1/2 ounce Heavy Cream

Shredded Coconut Garnish

Combine liquid ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to blend and chill. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with sprinkling of shredded coconut.
